Track Rack or Fixed Rack?
TO TRACK OR NOT TO TRACK
ZOMEWORKS has been building passive solar trackers since the early 1980s. With over 18,000 Track Racks™ operating around the world, many of them for over fifteen years, and thousands for over ten years, we are often asked when to use a tracker and when to use a fixed rack.
When we first began manufacturing Track Racks™ our response was, “only use a tracker if your peak load is in summer.” We did not emphasize using trackers for household systems, as we thought the peak load was in the winter and the increased summer power would be wasted.
Since then we have found that people are using trackers for their homes, and have added a freezer or an evaporative cooler because of the additional power they receive as a result of tracking the sun.
Today, with our trackers spread all over the world, we receive feedback from our customers who have Track Racks™ in many different climates. They are all pleased with the way they work and the results they get from their trackers.
WHY YOU SHOULD SELECT A TRACK RACK™ OVER A FIXED RACK
· Track Racks™ always produce more power than a fixed rack.
· Track Racks™ produce 25-45% more power in the summer.
· Track Racks™ produce up to 50% more water when used for pumping.
The increased efficiency of Track Racks™ over fixed racks translates into 25-45% more power, or purchasing 25% fewer photovoltaic modules for your system and receiving the same amount of power had you chosen fixed racks. Either way you get more power for the same amount of money.
The greatest benefit of the Track Rack™ is that you get better performance from all of your equipment: inverters, pumps, batteries, whatever you are using in your system. The entire investment is enhanced by 25 – 45%.
